New partnership with the Canadian Longitudinal Study for Aging
The Canadian Longitudinal Study for Aging (CLSA) and OBiBa will be establishing a long-term partnership for developing and deploying some of the main IT infrastructure components to be used by the CLSA for data collection, integration and analysis.
CLSA is a large, long-term study that will follow approximately 50,000 Canadian men and women between the ages of 45 and 85 for at least 20 years. Data collection from 30,000 CLSA participants will take place at 11 Data Collection Sites (DCS) located across Canada.
CLSA and OBiBa will collaborate together for tailoring and deploying the OBiBa Onyx application for collecting in-depth data on participants which include eConsent, health questionnaires, neuropsychological tests, vision tests and audiometry, as well as other measurements such as blood pressure, carotid wall thickness, spirometry, and measures of strength and physical performance.
Moreover, CLSA and OBiBa will combine their effort to develop the OBiBa Opal application for building the CLSA Participant Database, to be hosted at the CLSA National Coordinating Center. This central database will integrate data from different the CLSA data sources such as the Data Collections Sites, the Biorepository and Bioanalysis Center, the Genetics and EpiGenetics Center, and the Computer Assisted Phone Interview Center.
